You have been subscribed to a public bug: Sometimes, then I boot up my computer LightDM fails to start, and I just get a a black screen.
I then have to press CTRL+ALT+F1 to get to a TTY (terminal) and run "sudo service lightdm restart then lightdm starts up just fine, this happens quite rarely. I have had lots of people looking at my logfiles on the official #ubuntu channel on IRC, but none have been able to give me a working solution I also posted my issue on Ubuntuforums, no one seems a to have any ideas. I have tried the following without any result: * Tried to reconfigure LightDM and unity-greeter with "sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm" and sudo dpkg-reconfigure unity-greeter. * Updating my Nvidia drivers with this ppa: http://ppa.launchpad.net/xorg-edgers/ppa/ubuntu * Asked on #Ubuntu (offiicial Ubuntu channel of course) and got the advices above. * Tried Googing around a bit, and searched this forum as well of course.
