I'm so sorry, it seems this was an error on my side, but I don't really know. 
After I deactivated and reactivated the Windows decorations in CCSM everything 
is working fine. I also did a gconftool- 2 --recursive-unset /apps/compiz-1, 
but I think the unseting-resetting the windows decorations in CCSM is what 
solved the issue.
