Xorg stalls out the whole system when surfing with firefox

Bug description:
When scrolling on certain sites showing images the whole system stops
responding on mouse and keyoard input for about 2 to 4 minutes until
it gets responsive again. The processes table shows xorg at 48 to 52
percent.
Firefox was used with a plain new profile.
