Title:
   write error on swap device

Status in “pm-utils” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: pm-utils

  1. lsb_release -rd
  Description: Ubuntu 9.04
  Release: 9.04

  2. pm-utils - 1.2.2.4-0ubuntu4(all)

  3. I expected system to hibernate like it normally does

  4. now, whenever I try and hibernate, whether on battery power, or plugged
in, I receive the following error, continuously:
  write error on swap device
compcache: Error allocating memory for compressed page

It all started when(I don't know if this has anything to do with the
problem)...
Before, I was unable to hibernating sleep/resume when on full battery power.
If I was plugged in though, I wouldn't have any problem hibernating
sleep/resume. If, during hibernate resume, the system was on battery power, it
would get to the splash screen "waking up", and then hang. If you plugged in
power while it was hung (for a long time), system would continue resume state,
and you would be able to resume normally, sometimes having to unplug, and then
plug back in the power, but it would still resume. If during hibernate sleep,
the system was on battery power, the screen would hibernate normally, screen
going black with one cursor in the upper left hand corner, but would stop, and
not power off completely. You could plug in the power, and you may have to
plug and unplug it a couple of times, but the hibernate would complete, and you
could resume normally as long as the power was plugged in. However, the last
time I tried this, it didn't hibernate sleep on its own, it just scrolled this
message above continuously. Battery/Power are both on performance profiles, if
that matters. I've tried hibernate sleep twice, and I received these same
errors both times. Would you like me to reproduce more?
