No keyboard and mouse after suspend (hibernate works fine)

Bug description:
I have a Compaq Evo N1000v laptop running 8.10. I can hibernate and
thaw with no problems, but when I suspend and try to resume, the
keyboard and mouse are inoperative. I can't unlock the screen and the
only way to get the computer back is to hard reset. I have a thread in
