Suspend shuts off computer
Status in “pm-utils” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
This problem occurred for me in 8.10 32-bit, 9.04 64-bit, and 9.10
32-bit. I'm currently running 9.10 32-bit.
Suspend seems to shut off computer completely. The power button does
not flash. Keyboard and mouse do not wake the computer up.
After adding "set -x" to /etc/acpi/sleep.sh, a pm-related function is
the last thing that appears before the computer shuts off.
After pressing power button, a black screen appears, but the computer
doesn't boot up. After shutting it down and powering up again, it
boots up normally.
Hibernate works with no issues.
This is a custom-built desktop computer.
