If the files are Windows Media Video 9 (FourCC code WMV3) format, it
looks like you will need gstreamer 1.2.3 or later - see the "GStreamer
Plugins Base:" section of http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives
/gstreamer-devel/2014-February/046109.html
Ubuntu 14.04 "Trusty Tahr" currently has gst-plugins-base1.0 version
1.2.3-1. Can you test and see if it works?

Title:
can't import
Status in “pitivi” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Hi, I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 and pitivi 0.15.2-0.1ubuntu1
When I try to import files by dragging them or via the openfile dialog
nothing happens. Theses are wmv videos files, via the openfile dialog the
preview works so I guess it's compatible.
But I don't understand why the software doesn't do anything.
