Title:
Ubuntu failes to resume from suspend
Status in “pm-utils” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Since I did an Ubuntu update this morning (which contained an update
to the kernel) I have not been able to resume my computer from Suspend
or Hibernate.
Steps to reproduce (at least on my machine)
1. Boot-up
2. Login
3. Suspend (click on my name in the upper-right corner, click on Suspend)
4. Push Power button (to awake and resume)
Results: Screen flashes on and then fragments of the screen appear.
No mouse movement is available/visible. Computer seems hung and only
a complete reboot will restore the computer.
Expected Results: Ubuntu awakes and restores to state prior to
Suspend
Notes:
I press Ctrl+Alt+Backspace (which I re-enabled to work from the original
Ubuntu install), to see if I can kill and reset X, but this does not work
either. I tried to go to a terminal screen (example ctrl+alt+F3) and nothing
happens.
Even if I do a fresh reboot and Suspend or Hibernate from the login screen
the same problem occurs.
I do notice the following in the error logs:
