Neither using the UI of amdcccle, neither manually replacing
PP_VariBrightFeatureEnable=V1 -> PP_VariBrightFeatureEnable=V0
in /usr/lib/fglrx/etc/ati/amdpcsdb
or
in /usr/lib/fglrx/etc/ati/amdpcsdb.default helps
WORKAROUND: Solved by installing the binary fglrx 13.04 from AMD.
