Title:
random wrong display resolution on boot

Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xorg

Random at boot xorg picks the resolution 1024x768 instead of 1280x800
of the display of my laptop. Other times gdm does not appear or
  appears out of displays frame.

  Ubuntu 10.04

  Xorg 1:7.5+5ubuntu1

I attach a log file of a bad session.
If it can be usefull, before Lucid I used Fedora 12 for a month, and had no
problems.
  Thank's
  Tiziano
