I tried to reproduce your issue in the current development version of
Ubuntu (14.04) but wasn' able to do so. It would be great if you could
test it in the development version and see if it is still an issue for
you.

Totem hangs after suspend

Bug description:
If totem is started before suspend then after resuming the screen (Totem)
will be blank totally grey.
If totem is not started before suspend then after resuming if you play a file
in totem it will hang.
