Title:
Xorg x server - core server update cause temperature increase

Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
On Ubuntu Studio 13.04 64 bit i pulled in some updates yesterday,
after the reboot i noticed that the fan of my graphics card (nVidia
GeForce 9300M G) started to spin faster than normal. So i opened
nvidia-settings and checked the temperature, it showed me it was 74 °C
degrees and went up to 78 °C degrees within 2 minutes. I tried it also
with Nouveau but ended up with the same results.

Normally the GPU temperature is between 60 and 63 °C.

Just to make sure it was the Xorg x server - core server update that
caused it i re-installed the daily built of Ubuntu Studio 13.04 i have
on usb stick and left out the Xorg x server update. Now after
rebooting the GPU temperature stays around 60 °C degrees as should.

  It's the package xserver-xorg-core 2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6 (xorg-server
(2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6)) that was published on 2013-04-18.
