Title:
  [ATI Radeon x1250] KWin Desktop effects not active by default

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-ati” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

  I have installed Kubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat (beta) Updated to date
  (RC packages I think, and KDE SC 4.5.1).

  My motherboard is ASUS M2A-VM HDMI with integrated video card ATI Radeon
x1250.
  Using free drivers xserver-xorg-video-radeon 1:6.13.1-1ubuntu5,
libgl1-mesa-dri 7.9~git20100924-0ubuntu1.

  Have acceleration:
  $ glxinfo | grep direct
  direct rendering: Yes

  But the desktop effects are disabled and from SystemSettings in
  "Desktop Effects" all options are disabled and I can not change any
  option of them.
