Title:
[radeon] Jerky animations in all desktop environments
Status in “xserver-xorg-video-ati” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
I get jerky OpenGL animations in all desktop environments, including Unity,
KDE, Gnome Shell, and even Enlightenment.
Ubuntu 12.10
uname -a
Linux xxx-GA-880GM-D2H 3.7.0-4-generic #12-Ubuntu SMP Wed Nov 28 09:30:01 UTC
2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
This was a problem in 12.04 as well. It seems to be a driver bug that
is causing jerky animation on my hardware. This is a problem in all
the distros I've tried, about five.
AMD 965BE (3.4Ghz quad core), 4GB RAM, 880G chipset [ATI Radeon HD
4250 integrated chip/512MB shared vram]. Open source radeon driver.
