Title:
Can't get X running on 27" iMac (Radeon gfx) in 11.10
Status in “xserver-xorg-video-ati” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
I have tried a clean install of ubuntu amd64 on an 2009 (early 2010?)
imac 27" with ATI/Radeon graphics. Install works fine, but there is no
way I can get X running. A default boot gets some of the way, then
presents a blank screen, which I can't get past (the OS still appears
to be running though) I have tried the nomodeset radeon.modeset=0
kernel options, but there is no failsafeX in the recovery menu
anymore, which got me through last time. I have tried dropping into a
shell to install the fglrx drivers via jockey-text, but this doesn't
seem to work either.
