Title:
Mouse (touchpad) jumps while typing although it should be disabled
Status in “xserver-xorg-input-synaptics” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
In System Settings 'Disable touched while typing' option is selected'
and still (every once in a while) the mouse jumps away while typing.
Sytem: HP ProBook 6460b
Ubuntu: 11.10
Assuming the problem is with the 'idle time' set for syndaemon, I tried to
chang it. As syndaemon parameters can't be changed via the GUI, I tried the
following to increase the tilt time:
killall syndaemon ; syndaemon -i 2 -K -R
What I experienced is: if you press a key (ie in gnome-terminal) and
immediately start moving the mouse in some of the cases the mouse
doesn't get tilted. It means, that the problem is not with the idle
time itself, but mouse doesn't even get disabled in some of the cases
at all.
To reproduce:
a) press a key and immediately move the mouse
b) move the mouse continously and hit a key
