Title:
Touchpad on Samsung NP-900X3A after system-startup only randomly
  works.

Status in “xserver-xorg-input-synaptics” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
On my Samsung NP-900X3A Ultrabook (Ubuntu 11.10 amd64) automatic sign-on
after system-startup is activated.
The touchpad randomly responds/works - or not.

It seems to be a software-problem to me, as I found two ways to work around
this:
sign out using the keyboard or plugging in a usb-mouse.
either way activates the touchpad. after logout the touchpad works. it also
does as soon as a usb-mouse is plugged in and keeps working when the mouse is
plugged out again.

Also this happens randomly only. Some times it just works as expected.
