So I tried your workaround guys "sudo pm-powersave false" and doesn't work for me. Still have 70 - 100 % usage cpu .. sometimes more 100+ :D. So I decide to try install Xubuntu-desktop.. when I switch to xfce everithings works well with all efects ..compiz etc.. CPU stay between 4 - 8% . Should be problem in gnome-power-manager ... but this package cannot be uninstall just like that- seems to be connet with whole ubuntu-deskot. So if you have guys any ideas how to.. let's say.. switch to another power manager, for example xfce4-power-manager, I would be very grateful- if is it even possible of course. thx and regards guys

And it only happens when the charger is disconnected. The problem is the fallowing : - When the charger is connected the OS is fast. - But, when it isn't, then Ubuntu becomes impossible to use because of it slowness (taking up to 3 minutos to open an application if the mouse is not on top of another application). A workaround that I've found is to disable pm-powersave by doing : "sudo pm-powersave false". But this workaround causes 2 problems : 1 - It need to be loaded every time I boot the laptop 2 - If pm-powersave is set to false then the laptop won't Suspend. Another thing : My laptop has an nVidia GPU and I am using the Nouveau driver. If I boot the computer with the "nomodeset" option set in the kernel, then I will have a small resolution, no visual effects, but there will be no slow down problem Best Regards, Luis Da Costa To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pm-utils/+bug/1172978/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
