Title:
Suspend failure unformatted hard drive , no partition table either

Status in “pm-utils” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
Second unformatted drive , without partition table cause suspend to
fail(brand new drive) .
2 disks total , one mounted for the root filesystem, one unformatted new
drive.
  Effects : 8.10 , 9.04 (don't know about 8.04 but I am pretty sure it does
also).

Work around : create partition table for drive, suspend works fine after
that, does not to be formatted , just needs a partition table.
Correction : This might be a misbehaving hard drive. The dmesg output shows
the sata link failing on the drive. The drive is new but I just bought two new
ones from a different company(seagate). I will see what happens.

Note: Just wanted to pass this on such that hopefully somebody else if
they run into the problem they will find this bug report.
