pb-hibernate fails to hibernate machine one time in 3 or 4.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: pm-utils
I run pm-hinernate in an xterm using 'sudo pm-hibernate'.
Normally the following happens:
0) the screen goes black.
1) The screen is restored and I see the pm-hibernate in the xterm but it
hasn't finished yet.
2) The screen blanks again.
3) The machine is now hibernated.
About one time in 3 or 4 pm-hibernate terminates afte step 1) above
and doesn't hibernate.
