I'm having the exact same bug on daily 14.04 (as of March 20):

AFAIK I started experiencing this error a couple of days ago: the first 14.04
daily image I installed was from March, 12th and it worked flawlessly until
just recently.
I downloaded and installed today March 20 the daily build and got the exact
same problem right after first log in.
Traditional Samba configuration works as expected.

When using the "Local Network Share" tab in the folder properties
window to try and share a folder, the result is an error message:
