Monitor resolution reverts to highest upon closing lid.

Bug description:
After making a change to the resolution (lower) in "Monitors"
application, monitor resolution reverts back to highest resolution
upon closing lid. Does not occure on restart; only on lid close.
Checked lid settings in "Power Management" and appear OK. Nvida X
Server Settings appear OK. Ubuntu is installed along side of Vista
both with latest updates. System is Lenovo T61P IBM ThinkPad.
