Title:
locking the screen prevents monitor power sleep

Status in “gnome-screensaver” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
On a desktop machine with dual monitors, locking the screen keeps the
monitors power active forever. Previously, after some time, the
monitors would power save and turn off until a key or mouse button was
pressed. Now, the monitors never power down.
