of the sane backends for precise to my stable PPA

Please download the sane packages from there and let me know if they fix
the issue for you.  Furthermore, I need to know if trusty is still
affected.  Trying out the live CD would be sufficient.  Thanks.

Title:
  Canon imageClass D420 not supported by libsane-pixma

Status in “sane-backends” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I guessed the Canon imageClass D420 would work the same way as the
  D480.  I added the few lines in pixma_imageclass.c to mimic the same
  behavior, and sane recognized the scanner and successfully scanned the
  paper I had in the flatbed.  I've attached the patch.
