I also experience the endless blinking, however, I use a desktop computer and no power manager. Blinking starts like random, I was unable to identify what kind of effect triggered it.

If I close and then open lid, the screen starts blinking endlessly, redrawing window decorations. It is highly annoying and makes laptop unusable. Doing ctrl-alt-F21 does not help, reclosing the lid does not work.
