Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this

Title:
  Rhythmbox playback freezes between songs

Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Circumstances: I was playing 2 .ogg files in a loop. Every once in a
while after it finished one it would just stop playing for maybe 30-60
seconds. Hitting pause the hitting play made it start playing again.
The interface indicates that it is playing even when this "freeze"
occurs, but the time slider does not move and the time label does not
  change value.

  lsb_release -rd: Description:
  Ubuntu 12.10
  Release: 12.10

  apt-cache policy pkgname:
  rhythmbox:
    Installed: 2.97-1ubuntu6.1
    Candidate: 2.97-1ubuntu6.1
    Version table:
   *** 2.97-1ubuntu6.1 0

Packages

What I expected to happen: Rhythmbox to play the next song
  immediately.

What happened: Rhythmbox stopped playing the file at the beginning (no
movement from time slider), although the play/pause icon indicated
  that it was playing.

Notes: I have not done any configuration of Rhythmbox because I hardly
use it, the .ogg files just opened in it by default. They are located
in /tmp because I am playing them from archive manager. I am using the
xorg-edgers ppa, I don't know if this has any possibility of affecting
  this.
