I've been using 304.x since 13.04 or mabye 12.10, don't remember. Running 14.04 beta now brightness control stopped working even with 304.x driver. I've got Qaudro fx 1000m . Tried latest 331.38 and still doesn't work .
For other people coming across this bug, I found an app that got brightness control working: https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/precise/brightness-controller/ that app works with 304.x as well as with 331.38 for me . Who 'own' this bug, Nvidia or Ubuntu / Linux kernel or something else (?) . I'm thinking it must be nvidia, that'd be guessing, I really don't have any clue, just thinking out loud here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nvidia-prime in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264600 Title: after upgrade 0.51 to 0.52 on ubuntu 14.04 no brightness control Status in “nvidia-prime” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: brightness control stop working after upgrade to 0.52. need grub "acpi_osi='!Windows 2012" (is a problem because i don t have 10 levels of control, only 5" asus k56cb default ubuntu kernel (i used upstream without no result) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-prime/+bug/1264600/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
