Has just happened to me on 12.04LTS (encrypted home folder) after an extended period of non-use. Bug #822479 refers?
Triggered by trying to move a contact from one address book to another (coincidentally prehaps, to the last address book on the alphabetically sorted list) Reproduced giving a message Ubuntu 12.04LTS has encountered an error - duly reported - twice within the past half hour or so before this report. The error killed Evolution but not the OS.
