Line numbers are being visually cut off on the left hand side. See
screenshot.

I can get it to work again by turning off line numbers, closing gedit,
reopening it, and then reenabling line numbers.

However, if I close gedit and reopen it again, line numbers are again
cut off. Something seems to be going wrong when the line numbers
preference is enabled at gedit start up.
