Title:
GDM does not work in multiple displays in nvidia driver (nvidia-331)
(trusty) (optimus laptop)
Status in Ubuntu GNOME:
New
Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Version: Ubuntu Gnome 14.04, trusty
Laptop: Asus U36JC
I am currently using gdm version from "ppa:darkxst/gdm-prime" which fixes the
bug #1288572. This gdm version should be released soon.
If there is only one display (the built-in laptop monitor), gdm works fine
without any problems. If I plugged in another VGA display at boot time, gdm
will flicker between grey and black (off) background without showing any text
and buttons etc... gdm becomes useless at this state.
Workaround: Login to gnome-shell with one display first. and then
plugged in the second VGA monitor. gnome-shell works fine with
multiple monitors.
