Title:
vbetool breaks resume on R50e
Status in “acpi-support” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Status in “vbetool” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
My machine: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/ThinkpadR50e
Suspending results in a suspended machine with the blinking moon
symbol first, and the LED light if the machine has suspended. No
problem here.
On resume, the moon keeps on blinking, but never stops. There is some
HDD activity (a very short flackering every few seconds), but nothing
more. Switching VTs doesn't work. I can however use the MagicSysRQ
reboot the machine.
disabling vbetool by setting POST_VIDEO=false in /etc/default/acpi-support
AND using the VBERestore option of the i810 xorg driver makes the machine
suspend/resume as normal.
