Bug description:
This is a bug report filed immediately after a screen freeze occurred.
The symptom is that during normal use the system will lock up. The
mouse can still be moved but I can't click on any open applications.
The sound services will continue to operate (seemingly in the
background). Then I wait for about 10 to 20 seconds and the windows
will flash seemingly in a random order until it finally shows just the
wall paper (background) and then settles down with a crash report. At
that point, the system is either completely back to normal, or
partially OK (the missing aspect being the menu bars of all open
applications - in which case a re-boot is necessary). I have already
installed the current nvidia drivers and tried to remove nouveau but
that seemed to have already been removed.
