The upstream tarball includes a large number of reasonably up-to-date spelling/hyphen/thesaurus dictionaries, and currently libreoffice- dictionaries builds hunspell-*, myspell-*, mythes-* and hyphen-* binaries from some of the dictionaries. Ideally such binaries should be pulled as language support by the installer when you install Ubuntu while connected to the Internet. However, a prerequisite for that is that they are in main. libreoffice-dictionaries does not seem to be in the Debian archive, at least not yet. I don't know how upstream tracks possible bugs. The upstream repository is at https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/gitweb?p=dictionaries.git The list of Ubuntu bugs: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice-dictionaries I have read https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuMainInclusionRequirements One observation I have made is that the binaries do not install the dictionary specific license documents; currently only the standard copyright document for the source package is installed. I'm about to propose a fix of bug #1308771, and that fix will include a proposed change to debian/rules so that the dictionary specific license documents are installed as README files. Besides that, I haven't found any issues that would prevent the proposed main inclusion. Please note that none of the binaries built by libreoffice- dictionaries will be seeded or added as a dependency of a main package. They are just pulled...
