Public bug reported:

On a new Trusty installation, many windows trying to open at what
apparently is a default position of the top screen (this happening with
multiple applications, including Firefox), end up placing their title
bars directly under the Unity top bar. This causes the window to be
immovable without the use of [alt]+[space].

Often this occurs with older, non-Unity-aware applications, as well as
Firefox popup windows (the screenshot popups on appdb.winehq.org being
one example).

I've not reconfigured Firefox beyond setting a home-page, and have not
used any sort of compiz or Unity tweaking package.

I would expect either the window to be moved downward to avoid the
overlap, or for the topbar to convert to the menubar (as is seen when
windows are maximised).
