Title:
unity-settings
Status in “unity-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
I installed with Dvorak as my default keyboard.
English (US) is a backup #2 configuration.
Today's problem is that my hotkeys don't work any more the way I expect them
to. I press CTL-t in Dvorak (That is, CTL-k in Querty) and I get nothing. No
Gnome-terminal.
Problem is, I use Dvorak so much that I don't know where any of the querty
keys are, except by hunting them down, and this does not seem to me to be a
good idea. CTL-t should always be CTL-t, not some placement on the keyboard.
CTL-y in Dvorak (CTL-t in Querty) gives me a terminal, and a headache.
Second issue:
When I boot up to the login screen, the keyboard doesn't work at all, even
though it is set to Dvorak. I have to lower the little flag in the
upper-right-hand corner and re-select it.
Ditto after I log in. I have to lower the little flag and select Dvorak, even
though it is the top selection and should be the default.
