Thank you for the report. g-s-m is a process and resources monitoring tool. Therefore g-s-m should not provide functionality which doesn't fit in its spectre, even if it provides all the needed information for such features. Additionally, such a feature request will create a dependency on ubuntu-bug/apport. Considering these problems, I'm sure that the upstream won't accept such a request.
Since the idea to select a PID from a GUI is reasonable and ubuntu-bug /apport-bug requires a PID anyways, I suggest to place such an option under "Other problem" directly in apport-bug if no package or pid has been specified on the command line. There is an entry suggesting enchancements in this direction in the apport package. I will close this bug and I suggest to proceed further discussion in the following entry: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/662131 ** Changed in: gnome-system-monitor (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-system-monitor in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/445508 Title: Integrated bug report with with gnome-system-monitor for every process Status in “gnome-system-monitor” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor You can start a bug report with "Terminal" -> ubuntu-bug [processID]. It would be more convenient to add a new column in "gnome system monitor", e.g. "report a bug", so that a user can easily start apport with one click for every single process.
