Title:
gnome-shell crashes when enabling zoom
Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Release: Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 on both x32 and x64.
When enabling the desktop zoom accessibility feature, all the system
became unresponsive immediately after reaching the default zoom level.
The gnome-shell top bar disappeared, the mouse cursor couldn't move,
and I was unable to switch to another virtual desktop. After a few
seconds, the mouse cursor became able to move, but sluggishly, and
interact with the windows. The top bar didn't re-spawn, nor was I
able to reach another virtual desktop or to disable the zoom effect.
The only I could do was to drag the window around on the screen, which
produced artifacts, leaving blackness in its wake where it passed over
the desktop wallpaper.
I will not try to reproduce the bug again, having switched to Xubuntu
since.
I'm attaching my lshw output.
