Still a problem, at least on other WMs (xfwm4 here). May I have a link to the compiz fix, please.
It seems strange that a piece of software (firefox) exposes a bug in multiple other programs, though. Was the issue reported back to firefox upstream? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to firefox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1312452 Title: Firefox 28 often freezes with grey screen under Ubuntu 14.04 Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Firefox package version 28.0+build2-0ubuntu2 Since update from Ubuntu 12.04 to Ubuntu 14.04, I have many freezes, mostly under Thunderbird (I will open a bug too), but also under Firefox. At present I have 5 Firefox windows opened with approximately 200 tabs. My machine is a Dell Latitude E6520, with a Core i7 CPU, 8 GB RAM (less than 4 GB used now). My HDD is a SSD (Samsung 830), htop says CPU are quiet, iotop says there's no IO peak at all. Everything was OK under Ubuntu 12.04.
