Title:
At Nautilus, when we click on "File" > "New Document" the only option
showed is "Empty Document", ie, it does not show the option to create
new files based on the templates at $HOME/Templates.

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I am using Ubuntu 14.04 without any ppa or otherwise installed
  package.

At Nautilus, when we click on "File" > "New Document" the only option
showed is "Empty Document", ie, it does not show the option to create
new files based on the templates at $HOME/Templates. Because of that,
one can not use HUD to create a new document based on his/her
  templates.

  I have reported upstream
  (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=729606) but then I was
  referred here.

The behavior is different if I right click on an empty space and select "New
Document". Then my templates are showed.

  Here are screenshots to illustrate:

Description: file manager and graphical shell for GNOME
Nautilus is the official file manager for the GNOME desktop. It allows
to browse directories, preview files and launch applications associated
with them. It is also responsible for handling the icons on the GNOME
desktop. It works on local and remote filesystems.
   .
Several icon themes and components for viewing different kinds of files
   are available in separate packages.
