Title:
hangs during input - pages don't respond, but can still switch
Status in “chromium-browser” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Since Quantal I'm seeing a marked increase in Chromium-browser hangs; it used
to happen to me very rarely or under well
defined circumstances, now it's getting to be multiple times a day and much
more random.
I've had it opening new tabs, after having selected text and when I
hit right button to bring up the menu to copy it (but the menu hadn't
arrived yet).
Generally the symptom is that the browser keeps running, I can switch
tabs, but can't do anything in any of the tabs or open any new ones.
Sometimes I see a new 'partial tab' - with just the close button
visible in the tab heading but not even any space for a title.
(My previous reliable hangs were pasting into an edit box via synergy - but
these seem to be separate).
Sorry for the woolley report, but if I had any hard data I'd add it - I did
try ubuntu-bug's hang mode but it crashed.
