Title:
  gnome-appearance-properties theme switching behaves oddly

Status in GNOME Control Center:
  Expired
Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

Normally on my system, Appearance Properties theme switching works
just fine. However, for some reason (I don't remember why) I switched
themes using gtk-theme-switcher2. After I did that gnome-appearance-
properties will switch the theme, but the GTK elements are not
switched, resulting in an ugly, unexpected theme clash.

This seems to be because ~/.gtkrc-2.0 (set by gtk-theme-switcher2)
overrides what is set in gnome-appearance-properties. While this makes
sense, it results in weird behavior.

I assigned this to gnome-appearance-properties because I think it
should alert the user to the conflict and possibly present the option
  to remove the gtkrc file.
