  lucid updated

  into /var/log/daemon.log: Unable to write to login cache file:
  /var/lib/gdm/.cache/login_frequency.cache

  looking there, /var/lib/gdm/ is empty, no .cache

  i've removing/purging gdm with synaptic and console too but got error
  :exist with status 1, then i've found a silent crash

  gdm folder into /var/lib/ have an icon with 2 white cross lines over
  it

  running: sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm does not help
