In Ubuntu 14.04 LTS I am having the issue of the Unity Desktop crashing as a result of connecting to a Windows 2000 PC via RDP (any RDP viewer).

Ubuntu 8.04.2 + latest updates installed on Samsung Q70 laptop. Gnome completely freeze (I think it crashed) after rdesktop starts. I can't find any related errors in system or Xorg log files. Bit more information: 1. Connect to remote PC (Windows XP SP3 Eng) over SSH tunnnel - no crash. 2. Connect to remote PC (Windows XP SP3 Eng) over IPSEC tunnnel - crash. 3. Connect from Virtual Windows (VirtualBox 2.2) over IPSEC tunnel - crash. 4. Upgrade to 9.04 didn't help.
