Hello Kevin, or anyone else affected, Accepted fontconfig into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fontconfig/2.11.0-0ubuntu4.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.
