Title: software center requires files to be removed before installing software Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: http://postimg.org/image/4b97ucx0f/ (screen shot of issue) When I try to install any software from the software center (not just synaptics package manager), the little window appears telling me that those items must be removed. Its always those same 3 items. ubuntu version: ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bit software center version: software-center: Installed: 13.10-0ubuntu4.1 Candidate: 13.10-0ubuntu4.1 Version table: *** 13.10-0ubuntu4.1 0 500 http://cy.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 13.10-0ubuntu4 0 500 http://cy.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages the expected result is to install the synaptics package manager (or any other software) and make it available for me to use without a hitch. Instead, I get that annoying pop up window telling me i need to remove those items to install anything.
