settings I fixed mine (Version: 4.2.3.3
Build ID: 420m0(Build:3) installed from default ubuntu repos, via:

Title:
no borders for table cells visible

Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
With latest updates for 14.04 the office package got broken. There are
no borders for all tables/cells visible in the writer application at
least. Also in PDF export or printing there are no borders any more.
The borders are defined for sure for the cells but are not displayed.
