I am having the same issue. Ubuntu 14.04 with Plantronics D100 and Logitech wireless mouse. UI does not appear to be affected on my system, and removing USB receiver fixes the problem immediately.

When they are plugged in, the pointer controller decides that the LMB is being held. RMB, MMB, scroll, and pointer location all function across touchpad, USB mouse, and graphical tablet, but LMB does not. Running the 3.13.0-23-generic kernel. The workaround sudo rmmod usbhid && sudo modprobe usbhid quirks=<lsusb id>:0x04 does not work, instead all clicking functionality is lost when the headphones are plugged in.
