Some further notes: the card that I plugged into to the card reader was the one from my canon camera. When I tried to plud other cards no of them were read, only canon formatted card was readable. Finally I turned off my Samsung Note II and removed the card from it and plugged it into the card reader. The card showed up in the file manger but an error message box appeared with the following error message:
Error mounting /dev/sdd1 at /media/edward/3062-6439: Command-line `mount -t "exfat" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=1000,gid=1000,iocharset=utf8,namecase=0,errors =remount-ro,umask=0077" "/dev/sdd1" "/media/edward/3062-6439"' exited with non-zero exit status 32: mount: unknown filesystem type 'exfat' Hope that helps !
