Could you please be a little more explicit about what you mean by
"Compiz crashed"? What symptoms did you experience?
Also, you please give more details about "after going in to TTY"? Were
you using an alternate virtual terminal (eg. control-alt-F2) or a
terminal application on the desktop (eg. control-alt-T)?

Bug description:
I went to the appearance settings by right-clicking on the desktop to
change the visibility of the launcher, have set the sensitivity,
exited after changes were made, after a few times of showing and
hiding the launcher Compiz crashed and the display couldn't be
restored not even after going into TTY and using "compiz --replace".
compiz-core has shown what appeared to be a fatal error that it was
unable to initialize the display, so the only option was to do a hard
shutdown.
