The problem with this was that nm-applet was exhausting the number of
available IDs for the indicator -- when that happens, the indicator will
stop working. This is related to the memory leak issue.
We've fixed this in libdbusmenu already, closing as Fix Released.

Sometimes lately after upgrade to Natty the network manager status
icon is not possible to click on, nothing happens. When it happened
now, it seems to be solved by restarting network-manager service
("sudo service network-manager restart").
